Adam Goodman, Ph.D., a founding partner of NorthStone Group, is an award-winning educator, internationally recognized researcher, and trusted advisor to leaders of companies and other organizations in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. As head of NorthStone's leadership practice, he provides executive and team coaching focused on high potential leaders, teams, executives, and boards of directors.
Goodman designs, delivers and oversees a number of proprietary leadership tools for the firm, including individual and team leadership assessments, cultural assessments, and learning programs, notably the Strategic Leadership Forum
TM, a six-month program for high-potential leaders. He is currently working on a proprietary leadership assessment, an executive development course, a book and other material under the title Six Leadership Questions
TM. Goodman is an advisor and speaker to business, the media, the nonprofit sector and higher education.
He served as co-chair of the research section of the International Leadership Association, the world's largest association devoted to leadership, and as distinguished visiting professor at Johnson & Wales University. With a focus on public sector leadership, Goodman is one of the largest grant recipients in leadership research and education in the United States. He has received major grants from organizations such as the Ford Foundation and IBM Corporation. He has published numerous articles and two academic books, Community Trusteeship and Public Leadership; and more than 20 higher education institutions across the country have adopted his work. For 12 years he was president and CEO of the University of Colorado's Leadership Institute where, among other accomplishments, he created the Colorado Leadership Conference, an annual leadership program for high school students. He earned a master's degree in management and a doctorate in leadership from the Graduate School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado.
